About
Actium is a Dutch woningcorporatie, a social housing organisation that lets regulated rental homes to people on lower and middle incomes. Its office is at Portugallaan 10 in Assen and its working area covers nine municipalities: Assen, Aa en Hunze, Midden-Drenthe, Noordenveld, Westerveld, De Wolden, Hoogeveen and Meppel in Drenthe, plus Ooststellingwerf. It names the villages and towns it serves, from Norg and Roden in the north to Diever, Dwingeloo and Oldeberkoop. For tenants it handles letting, rent payment, repair requests and ending a lease, through an online tenant portal. Beyond the homes themselves it works on neighbourhood liveability, on green space and community meeting places, and on making its housing stock more energy efficient, and it builds new housing through the Bouwstroom Noord initiative and the Mijn Buurt Assen partnership. Tenants have a formal say through the tenants' organisation MEVM. It is a member of the sector association Aedes and of the VTW.
