Work with How to in NL

Reach internationals in the Netherlands without turning useful information into advertising.

How to in NL stays free for the people using it. Relevant professionals and organisations can work with us through a Professional Profile or a How to in NL Partner relationship. Inclusion is reviewed for relevance first, and payment does not buy ranking, endorsement or any control over what we publish.

Neither of those takes you to a payment. There is no payment step on this site.

Three different ways to appear on How to in NL

One of them is editorial and free. The other two are commercial, and we say so wherever they appear. Knowing which is which is the whole point of this page.

Editorial organisation listing

Free

Organisations that are useful to internationals in the Netherlands.

Public bodies, NGOs, welcome centres, community organisations and other useful actors can appear in the How to in NL organisation directory because people need them, not because they paid.

Payment is not required for standard editorial inclusion, and being listed does not imply a commercial relationship.

Professional Profile

€150/year excl. VAT

2026 annual rate

Independent professionals offering relevant services to internationals in the Netherlands.

Career coaching, relocation support, intercultural work, tax and accounting, legal and startup support, language and integration, housing and mortgages, wellbeing and leadership, and related professional services.

Payment buys profile presence and profile functionality. It does not buy ranking, endorsement or leads.

How to in NL Partner

€950/year excl. VAT

2026 annual rate

Organisations that already meet the relevance standard and want a closer working relationship.

A partnership adds presence and a clearer working relationship on top of an organisation that already belongs here. It does not create the relevance; relevance is decided first and separately.

Partnership does not guarantee editorial coverage, leads or preferential ranking.

How it works

Relevant first. Commercial second.

Nobody buys their way onto How to in NL. We work out whether there is a fit, and only then whether there is a commercial route that makes sense.

  1. 01

    Tell us what you do

Who you help, what you offer and where you work.

  2. 02

    We review the fit

We look at relevance, clarity, professional standing where that applies, and whether the offer makes sense for the people using How to in NL.

  3. 03

    We agree the right route

An editorial organisation listing, a Professional Profile or a How to in NL Partner relationship. Sometimes the right answer is the free one.

  4. 04

    Then we publish

Once the information is accurate and the commercial relationship, if there is one, is disclosed.

Trust comes first

What payment does not buy.

How to in NL has to stay useful to someone who will never pay us anything. These are the limits that make that true, and they are not negotiable in a commercial conversation.

  • No paid ranking

Payment does not move anyone above a more relevant result. Ordering is decided by relevance to the person searching.

  • No automatic endorsement

A profile or a partnership is not a guarantee of anyone's services. We are saying who they are, not vouching for the outcome.

  • No best provider label

Recommendation status is not for sale. We do not sell the words recommended, verified, certified or official.

  • No control over factual guidance

A commercial relationship cannot change what a guide says, which authority it cites or what the official source is.

  • No guaranteed leads

We do not promise traffic, enquiries or conversions, and we will not quote a number we cannot stand behind.

  • No automatic acceptance

We can decline an application that is not a good fit, and paying does not change that answer.

For independent professionals

A clear presence where internationals are looking for help.

A Professional Profile gives someone enough to understand what you do, where you work and how to reach you. It sits alongside the people already on professional support, which is what a published profile looks like.

Who this is for: career coaching, relocation support, intercultural work, tax and accounting, legal and startup support, language and integration, housing and mortgages, wellbeing and leadership, and related professional services.

A profile is a presence, not a recommendation. You remain responsible for your own services, fees, advice, terms and outcomes, and anyone contacting you should check those with you directly.

For organisations

Build a clearer relationship with How to in NL.

A How to in NL Partner is an organisation that already meets the relevance standard and chooses to build an additional commercial relationship with the platform. The relevance comes first and is decided separately; a partnership adds presence and a working relationship on top of it.

Partnership does not guarantee editorial coverage, leads or preferential ranking. Several of the benefits are consideration for an opportunity rather than a commitment to one, and performance insights are shared only where the measurement is reliable. We would rather promise less than describe something we cannot deliver.

Questions we get asked

Can I pay to be added to the organisation directory?
No. Standard organisation inclusion is editorial and based on relevance to the people using the site. There is no price for it.
Does a Professional Profile mean How to in NL recommends me?
No. It means you have a commercial profile on the platform. It is not an endorsement, and the page says so where the profile appears.
Does a How to in NL Partner rank higher?
No. Partnership is disclosed, not weighted. Nothing about a commercial relationship reaches the search ranking or the order organisations appear in.
Can partners influence guides or official information?
No. Guides are written against first-party Dutch authorities and reviewed by a person. A commercial relationship is not a route into that.
Do you guarantee leads or traffic?
No. We can share the performance signals we actually have, where they are reliable, but we do not sell guaranteed outcomes.
How long does the annual rate apply?
The 2026 annual rate applies to profiles and partnerships approved in 2026. Each annual term then runs for 12 months from activation, whatever month it starts in. Rates for new applications may change in future years.

Think there is a fit?

Tell us what you do and who you help. We will review whether a Professional Profile, an editorial organisation listing or a How to in NL Partner relationship makes sense, and we will say so if the answer is none of them.
