Amaryllis is the organisation for social work and welfare in the municipality of Leeuwarden, in Friesland. It was founded in 2015 and works with residents of all ages across the city and the surrounding villages. Its stated aim is that residents can take part, manage day to day life, and do things for each other in their neighbourhoods. It is organised into teams: social district and village teams, a status holders team, youth work, voluntary work, informal care support, community organising, personal budget support and an outreach team. Its public topic pages cover money, informal care, youth, volunteering, meeting others and status holders. The status holders team is the part most relevant to people who have recently arrived. Its site describes a status holder as an asylum seeker with a residence permit, and says people housed in the municipality of Leeuwarden receive social guidance in their first year, with support continuing after that. The office is on Zuidvliet in Leeuwarden and the website has an English version.
