Amsterdam Impact is an initiative of the City of Amsterdam concerned with impact entrepreneurship and social enterprise, meaning businesses set up to create social or environmental value alongside financial value. It is a policy and ecosystem programme rather than a company or a fund, and it publishes in English through the city's iamsterdam.com website. Its agenda covers the role of local government in a shared value economy, market access for impact companies, access to capital across the stages of a business, scaling internationally from Amsterdam, neighbourhood level entrepreneurship, and stronger connections between the parties in the ecosystem. In practice that appears as support tracks for accelerating, growing and investing in impact enterprises, a series that introduces impact enterprises to potential buyers, a peer network for impact investors, a network linking Amsterdam to comparable cities elsewhere, and shopping routes pointing residents to socially driven businesses. Its stated audiences are startups, established companies, investors, civil servants, network organisations and knowledge institutes.
