Organisation records are published from the Flux Forward organisation register and shown here exactly as that register holds them. We do not research, write or edit them on this site, and a listing is not an endorsement or a sign that an organisation can help with your situation. Check the organisation's own website before acting.

More about where our information comes from

If your company is considering opening an office in the Amsterdam area, or is based there and expanding abroad, this is the region's public agency for both directions.

About

Amsterdam Trade & Invest is presented on the city's iamsterdam.com website as the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area's agency for foreign investment, trade and internationalisation. Its work splits in two. The invest side is aimed at companies and investors from outside the Netherlands who are weighing up the region: it explains the Dutch legal, fiscal and regulatory setting, publishes benchmark and sector reports comparing Amsterdam with other European locations, makes introductions into a network of local business partners, and arranges tailored fact finding visits covering practical matters such as premises and available talent. Named sector priorities include artificial intelligence, fintech, renewable energy, sustainable fashion and life sciences. The trade side is aimed at companies already based in the region that want to sell or operate abroad: introductions to trade partners and knowledge institutions, export programmes and acceleration tracks for smaller companies, market intelligence and partner matching, and participation in missions and trade fairs. It is a business facing service throughout.

What they offer

  • Information on the Dutch legal, fiscal and regulatory framework for incoming companies
  • Benchmark and sector reports comparing Amsterdam with other European locations
  • Introductions to local business partners and knowledge institutions
  • Tailored fact finding visits, on site or online
  • Export programmes and acceleration tracks for smaller companies
  • Market intelligence and partner matching for companies expanding abroad
  • Participation in trade missions and trade fairs

Good to know

  • It works with companies and investors, not with individuals. It does not deal with residence permits, municipal registration or personal relocation.
  • Its geography is the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area. It does not act for other Dutch regions.
  • It provides information, introductions and programmes. It does not provide capital and does not decide who receives public funding.
