Business Development Friesland, referred to on its own site as Stichting BDF, is a foundation on the Zaailand in Leeuwarden that acts as a growth partner for organisations in Friesland. It groups its work into six areas: innovation and research support including subsidy and fiscal guidance; sustainability financing and business case development for energy and emissions reduction; education and talent, including managing Erasmus+ programmes; collaboration with government bodies on putting policy into practice through consortia; internationalisation, matching companies with partners abroad through the Enterprise Europe Network; and incubation and growth, including support connected to the Dutch startup visa route and an accelerator.
