About
Business Generator Groningen is an independent organisation, with its own Chamber of Commerce registration number 02097980, that works with but is not part of the University of Groningen, Hanze University of Applied Sciences or the University Medical Center Groningen. It supports researchers and knowledge-based founders connected to those institutions in turning research into companies and marketable innovations. Its core services are market exploration to assess commercial potential, invention and patent protection advice, help finding collaboration or licensing partners among established companies, and hands-on support setting up a spin-off or start-up, covering business planning, financing, team building and access to campus facilities. Its own funding product, the Business Generator Loan, provides 10,000 to 35,000 euros to eligible early-stage ventures for projects in healthy ageing, sustainable society, sustainable energy or digital innovation. It also acts as the regional partner and host for Biotech Booster, a national growth fund programme for biotechnology commercialisation. Its office is at Campus Groningen.
