About
Cosis, formally Stichting Cosis, is a Dutch care foundation supporting people with intellectual or psychological disabilities, working from more than 200 locations across the provinces of Groningen and Drenthe. Its main office is in Assen. The organisation groups its work into four areas: support that lets people continue living in their own home; residential arrangements for those who need temporary or long-term housing away from home; daytime activities intended to help people take part in society and find meaningful occupation; and support for children with disabilities, including help for their parents and families. Cosis describes its aim as helping the people it supports live together meaningfully, and it mentions a client council for feedback as well as collaboration with families and professionals. It is a private non-profit foundation rather than a government body, and it works within the disability and social care system.
