About
Economic Board The Hague describes itself on its own site as an independent think tank and initiator for the economy of the city of The Hague. It brings together entrepreneurs and people from knowledge institutions in the city rather than acting as part of the municipal organisation. Its main activity is advice: it gives the municipality economic advice both on request and on its own initiative. Alongside that it starts projects, always with other organisations, meant to strengthen employment, the investment climate and the profile of The Hague as a city for doing business. Its stated ambition is an economy in which smaller companies stay resilient through the transition it calls the next economy, and it weighs its activities against three goals, one of which is a more future proof economic structure for the city. Through a separate initiative it argues with partners for better international accessibility, including direct rail links between The Hague and other European cities, which it connects to the city's role as the seat of national government and as host to international organisations.
