About
Economic Board Zuid-Holland brings together entrepreneurs and directors from companies, knowledge institutions and governments in the province of Zuid-Holland. On the government side it seats mayors and economy aldermen from municipalities including Rotterdam, The Hague, Delft, Leiden, Dordrecht and Westland, a member of the provincial executive, and an observer from the economic affairs ministry. On the knowledge side it seats the executive heads of universities, university medical centres, universities of applied sciences, vocational colleges and the applied research organisation. Members put forward strategic initiatives for the provincial economy. It was set up in 2014 under a different name and took its current one in 2017, following a report that advised the region to create a development company with an advisory board of executives. Its work takes the form of joint agendas, among them a provincial growth agenda, an action agenda for the technological industry, a digitalisation agenda, and a human capital accord with its own agenda for the regional labour market. Its secretariat is housed inside InnovationQuarter, the regional development company, and its office is in The Hague.
