About
ESN Rotterdam calls itself the international student organisation of Erasmus University Rotterdam, and the Erasmus Student Network lists it among its sections in this country. Its stated aim is to make Rotterdam feel like home for international students, which it pursues through a year round programme of events. It keeps a physical office on the university campus at Burgemeester Oudlaan, in room PT-064 of the P building in front of the Aula, and invites students to walk in with a question or a problem, to sign up for events, or for a coffee. The office also handles arrival practicalities: a free SIM card, a public transport card lent against a deposit that is refunded when the card comes back, and the ESNcard, which carries discounts in Rotterdam and across Europe including a voucher towards a sports pass, airline discounts and reductions on the section's own events. Recurring events include Intro Days at the start of the semester, a partner fair on campus, and EURvision, a song writing and performance competition. The section asks people to reach it by WhatsApp message rather than by telephone call.
