Organisation records are published from the Flux Forward organisation register and shown here exactly as that register holds them. We do not research, write or edit them on this site, and a listing is not an endorsement or a sign that an organisation can help with your situation. Check the organisation's own website before acting.
It is explicit about what it cannot do, which is itself useful before you know how Dutch services are divided: residence permit steps go to the IND, and registration, address changes and civil documents go to your own municipality.
About
Expat Centre Maastricht Region is the shared welcome and information service for international residents of the Maastricht Region, which its site describes as seventeen municipalities in Limburg, among them Maastricht, Heerlen, Sittard-Geleen, Kerkrade, Vaals, Valkenburg and Echt-Susteren. Its About page calls it a non-profit government agency and a joint initiative of the Province of Limburg, Economische Samenwerking Zuid-Limburg and the participating municipalities, and names Heerlen, Maastricht and Sittard-Geleen as the municipalities that fund it. Any international resident of a participating municipality can use its information services, speak to its staff and attend the events it holds with programme partners. Its staff are called hospitality coaches and they give one-to-one advice sessions in person by appointment; the site offers both an expat consultation and an IND consultation. It publishes the Maastricht Region Manual for new and less new arrivals, and keeps separate sections for expats and for employers.
Good to know
- It cannot deal with IND matters such as biometrics, collecting a residence permit, a return visa or a residence permit sticker. Those are booked through the IND.
- It cannot deal with municipal business such as registration, a change of address, driving licence matters, or handing in birth and marriage certificates. Those belong to your own municipality.
- Its services are for international residents of the seventeen participating municipalities. Nothing on the pages read is aimed at refugees, asylum seekers or status holders.
