Organisation records are published from the Flux Forward organisation register and shown here exactly as that register holds them. We do not research, write or edit them on this site, and a listing is not an endorsement or a sign that an organisation can help with your situation. Check the organisation's own website before acting.
A family that has moved to Fryslan and speaks another language at home is most likely to meet this work through a local library or school, in its material on growing up with more than one language.
About
Fers is a non-profit organisation based in Leeuwarden that supports the public libraries of Fryslan and other cultural and social organisations in the province. It presents its work in two halves. The service organisation takes practical tasks off its partners' hands: financial administration, annual accounts and budgets, payroll, an ICT helpdesk covering hardware, software, networks, printers and telephony, management of the library membership system and of a museum collection system, HR work such as contracts, absence registration and recruitment advice, and the logistics of moving books between Frisian library branches, adding new titles to the catalogue and preparing them for lending. It also has storage and meeting space to rent. The knowledge and innovation centre employs advisers for reading promotion, Frisian and multilingualism, digital citizenship, digital library services, adult basic skills, lifelong development and collections. Fers states that it works for social rather than commercial profit.
