About
FOM is the development company for the Dutch province of Fryslan. It was created with provincial money to strengthen the regional economic structure, and it works by financing businesses rather than by giving grants. Its funds provide loans and can also take share capital in a company. It groups the work into four situations: starting a business, growing one, developing new products or processes, and selling abroad. For exporters it offers a guarantee product, which lets a Frisian supplier satisfy a foreign customer that wants financial security before awarding a large contract. Applicants deal directly with a small team of advisers whose contact details are published, and there is a contact form. Its office is in Leeuwarden. Eligibility as published is about the company rather than the person: it must be a small or medium sized business in Fryslan.
