Organisation records are published from the Flux Forward organisation register and shown here exactly as that register holds them. We do not research, write or edit them on this site, and a listing is not an endorsement or a sign that an organisation can help with your situation. Check the organisation's own website before acting.
For someone new to Groningen this is one building holding the city library, Dutch as a second language courses, and a cinema that marks which screenings carry English subtitles.
About
Forum Groningen is a public cultural venue at Nieuwe Markt 1 in the centre of Groningen. It combines the city library, a cinema showing current releases and classics, changing exhibitions, the Storyworld museum about comics, animation and games, an area called the Smartlab, and cafes. Library membership is a separate arrangement from cinema and exhibition tickets, and the library service runs from several locations around the city rather than from this building alone. Forum also puts on courses, including Dutch as a second language at different levels and conversation classes. Part of the film programme is meant for people who do not speak Dutch: the website marks which screenings carry English subtitles, and there is an Expat Cinema series and an International Movie Night. A customer service team answers questions about events, exhibitions and library services by phone and email, and the English pages point visitors to the Language no problem website.
Good to know
- Library membership is arranged separately from cinema and exhibition tickets, and the library service runs from several locations in the city, not only from this building.
- A cultural venue and library service rather than an advice or settlement organisation.
