About
Future Food Fund invests in early stage food and agriculture technology companies in Western Europe, at seed and Series A. It groups what it backs into three areas. Sustainable farming covers biological crop protection, seed development, digital soil monitoring and automated or artificial intelligence driven farming systems. Resilient supply chains covers matching supply to demand, transparency about where food comes from, carbon footprinting and verified insetting. Sustainable food development covers precision fermentation, cell based contract manufacturing, upcycled ingredients, and packaging that is bio based or compostable. Alongside money it offers contacts drawn from farming, growing, food, logistics, seeds, sourcing and pest control, as well as in information technology, finance and marketing. It frames its purpose around planetary boundaries and the share of greenhouse gas emissions, biodiversity loss and land use change that food production accounts for, and it says it has built its own way of measuring impact and applies it from the first screening of a deal through to how the team's own carried interest is set. Founders are asked to send a pitch deck.
