About
Geldvoorelkaar.nl is a commercial crowdfunding platform with its office in Veenendaal. It went live in 2011 as a response to the credit and banking crisis, when Dutch small and medium-sized firms were looking for finance outside the banks, and it describes itself as the first business crowdfunding platform in the Netherlands. Two groups use it. Business owners and property investors submit a finance request through the site; an assessor at the company judges whether the loan is responsible, and an approved request is published as a pitch that the public can subscribe to. Private investors open an account, pick individual projects, invest from 100 euro and are repaid with interest. Each published project carries a risk classification from A to F, based on repayment capacity, security such as collateral, the experience of the entrepreneur and project or market risk. The company also registers financial advisers as intermediaries, who can agree guidance packages of 20, 40 or 60 hours with a borrower. It holds a European crowdfunding licence from the AFM under number 32000020.
