Gimv is a stock listed European private equity and growth capital investor. The group is Belgian, quoted on Euronext Brussels and based in Antwerp, where its contact page gives a Belgian VAT number. It runs four offices: Antwerp, The Hague, Munich and Paris, and the Dutch office at the World Trade Center in The Hague has its own Dutch telephone number and its own Dutch email address. Gimv states that it has been investing for 45 years. It invests directly in companies, mainly with equity from its own balance sheet, so it can hold positions without a fixed fund lifetime. Investments run through four sector platforms, Consumer, Healthcare, Smart Industries and Sustainable Cities, and through a separate vehicle for larger long horizon holdings. Its published criteria are companies with an established market position and growth potential, headquartered in the Benelux, France or the German speaking countries, needing 20 to 100 million euro for a platform investment or 50 to 400 million euro for the larger vehicle. It takes majority and minority stakes and uses buyout, growth and, for life sciences, venture capital structures.
