A woman or non binary person who has recently moved to one of ten Dutch cities can join a free local group to meet others who have also moved from abroad. The purpose is friendship, not career or administrative help.
About
Girl Gone International is an international peer community for women and non binary people who have moved abroad. Its own pages describe it as volunteer powered, with local communities in over 200 cities, and state a purpose of connecting, representing and empowering women living outside the country of their birth. Each local community is a Facebook group that members join for free, and groups are opened and run by members themselves, often by someone who relocated and started a group in their new city. The Netherlands is covered by ten city communities: Amsterdam, Delft, Eindhoven, Groningen, Leiden, Maastricht, Nijmegen, Rotterdam, The Hague and Utrecht. The activity is social rather than professional: meetups, book clubs and larger gatherings. Alongside the groups it publishes a digital magazine about living abroad written by contributors in different countries, and it markets group trips. No legal entity name, country of registration, office address, general email address or telephone number appears on the pages it publishes, and it has no Dutch office and no Dutch registration.
