About
Greenwise Campus is a collaboration based in Emmen, in the province of Drenthe. Its own pages describe it as an initiative of five bodies: NHL Stenden, Drenthe College, the University of Groningen, the province of Drenthe and the municipality of Emmen, and it is also part of a wider northern Dutch education partnership. It publishes no legal entity name, registration number or registered address, which fits a partnership rather than an organisation with an identity of its own. It brings businesses, education providers, students, government bodies and local residents together to work on greening the region and making it smarter. Its work is grouped under four themes, circular plastics, energy, smart manufacturing industry, and welfare, health care and technology, which it links to four transitions: circular economy, sustainable energy, digitalisation and positive health. At its centre is an innovation centre presented as a meeting place where research and new methods are made available to anyone who wants to learn about them, and around that it runs an events programme and projects on talent development, digitalisation and entrepreneurship.
