Organisation records are published from the Flux Forward organisation register and shown here exactly as that register holds them. About

Stichting Groningen Verwelkomt, which presents itself in English as Groningen Welcomes Refugees, is a foundation in the city of Groningen. Its own pages say it was founded on 1 December 2015. Its stated purpose is to help refugees feel welcome and at home in the city. It describes its position as an intermediary between residents and refugees rather than as a service provider, and frames its work around an intercultural society open to people of any belief. In practice it supports groups of residents who organise social and cultural activities, pairs refugees with buddies, and brings people together in what it calls communities. Its method page describes a programme built on those buddies and communities, running over about nine months, with sessions on set themes alongside the personal contact, after which participants are encouraged to stay involved as volunteers. It states that there are no paid positions and that volunteers get expenses back only as far as the money allows. Visitors are asked to join a community, take a volunteer vacancy, or donate towards the cost of a place in its programme.
