Organisation records are published from the Flux Forward organisation register and shown here exactly as that register holds them. We do not research, write or edit them on this site, and a listing is not an endorsement or a sign that an organisation can help with your situation. Check the organisation's own website before acting.
If you are deciding whether to study in Groningen, this covers the everyday side that admission pages leave out: rooms, associations, sport, culture, cost of living and student work, in English as well as Dutch.
About
GroningenLife is a website about student life in the city of Groningen, written by students. Its own pages describe it as a campaign of the Groninger Alliance, the University of Groningen and Hanze University of Applied Sciences, managed by the two institutions' communication departments, with the site and the promotional activity conceived and carried out by students. It is aimed at people who have not yet chosen a city, and it states that its purpose is to explain why they should come and study in Groningen, so it is promotional rather than neutral. The site is organised by subject: studying, hotspots, culture, student associations, housing, sport, finance and work. A study support page sends readers on to the student support services of the two institutions for study delay, studying with a disability, money questions or psychological help. Three teams run it: a small core team of students managing the campaign, an editorial team producing written and video material in Dutch and English, and a promotion team that meets prospective students at events and walks them through the city centre.
What they offer
- Articles and videos on student life in Groningen, in Dutch and English
- Promotion team at events for prospective students, and walking tours of the city centre
Good to know
- It is a recruitment campaign of the two Groningen institutions. Read it as promotion of the city rather than as neutral advice.
- It covers student life in Groningen. It is not an admissions service and does not answer questions about applications or entry requirements.
- It publishes information only. Study support itself is delivered by the university and the university of applied sciences, not by the site.
