About
HighTechXL is a venture builder based at High Tech Campus in Eindhoven. Instead of waiting for founders to arrive with a business plan, it starts from the technology. It scouts inventions that have reached a working laboratory stage at research organisations, picks the ones it judges to have a validated market opportunity, and then runs a structured selection process to find entrepreneurs willing to co-found a company around them. Selected teams go through a twelve month venture building programme in which the risk is shared and the venture builder introduces them to investors, advisors and customers. Its stated offer to applicants is that they do not need to bring an idea of their own. It also works with investors, who get early sight of pre-seed opportunities, and with corporate and research partners that want to spin technology out of their own organisations. Its pages describe a network reaching beyond the Netherlands, with technology partners in several countries and a separate programme page for Singapore.
