Organisation records are published from the Flux Forward organisation register and shown here exactly as that register holds them. More about where our information comes from

If you run a horticulture technology, services or production company headquartered in Europe with an enterprise value under 100 million euros, this is an investor you can approach directly, and its English page invites entrepreneurs seeking funding for a controlled environment agriculture venture to get in touch. It will take a minority or a majority stake and can co-invest with others. It does not invest in retail.

About

Horticoop is an investment cooperative in the horticulture sector, established in 1904 and founded and owned by Dutch greenhouse growers. Its members are its owners and are professional growers, and it invests in companies at different stages of maturity across controlled environment agriculture, the growing formats it names as greenhouses and vertical farms. It publishes its investment criteria. The companies it considers are active in horticulture, supply a product, service or technology that makes production more efficient or more sustainable, are headquartered in Europe, and have an enterprise value up to 100 million euros. It invests across the horticulture value chain, in raw materials and service providers, production, processing, packaging, distribution and handling, but not in retail. It looks for a competitive market position with strong growth potential, room to expand into new regions or adjacent sectors, scope to develop new products or technology, or a buy and build opportunity. How it invests depends on the stage of the company. Younger companies receive growth capital; in mature companies it buys out sitting shareholders. It takes minority or majority stakes and can co-invest alongside management and other investors, and describes its approach as long-term support to entrepreneurs rather than a single transaction.
