The site is built for renting from abroad: it runs in English, a tenant can find and agree a Dutch rental online before arriving, and the company sits between the two sides for the first month's rent and the deposit. Its Netherlands pages sort listings by city and describe them as homes for students and expats, and it says its support team works in several languages before and during the move in.

HousingAnywhere is an online marketplace for renting a home, operated by HousingAnywhere B.V. from Aert van Nesstraat in Rotterdam. Its about page traces the company to 2009, when it started as a messaging forum for students swapping rooms abroad, and sets out two products today: the marketplace itself, which connects tenants with landlords and property managers and lets a rental be arranged online, and a payments service that collects rent and deposits between the two sides. The Netherlands section groups listings by city, among them Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht, Groningen, Eindhoven, Maastricht, Leiden, Delft, Tilburg and Enschede, and says these homes are for students and expats. This is a commercial business and its charges differ by country. Browsing listings is free everywhere. In the Netherlands a tenant buys a messaging subscription in order to contact landlords, and the booking itself is the first month's rent with no further tenant fee, while outside the Netherlands the company instead charges a one off tenant protection fee on booking. Landlords list and chat for free and pay a commission only when a tenant books, and the first month's rent is released to the landlord shortly after the tenant has moved in.
