About
InnovationQuarter is the regional development agency for the province of Zuid-Holland. Its own about page states that the Netherlands has nine such agencies and that this is the one for Zuid-Holland. It calls itself a nonprofit organisation and an initiative of several public bodies and knowledge institutions. The shareholders and financiers it lists are the Province of Zuid-Holland, the economic affairs ministry, the municipalities of Rotterdam, The Hague, Leiden, Delft, Westland and Dordrecht, the Rotterdam The Hague metropolitan region, TU Delft, Leiden University, Leiden University Medical Center, Erasmus University Rotterdam and Erasmus MC. Its work has three strands: putting money into startups, scale-ups and smaller technology companies; advising them and introducing them to investors, knowledge institutions, partners and customers; and helping companies based abroad to establish themselves in the province and grow there. Alongside that it works with businesses, knowledge institutions, governments and the provincial economic board on conditions for the regional economy such as space, talent and energy infrastructure. Visitors are received by appointment in The Hague and in Rotterdam.
