Organisation records are published from the Flux Forward organisation register and shown here exactly as that register holds them. We do not research, write or edit them on this site, and a listing is not an endorsement or a sign that an organisation can help with your situation. Check the organisation's own website before acting.

More about where our information comes from

Being reimbursed under Dutch health insurance places it inside the regulated system rather than outside it, which is the distinction that decides how someone new to the country pays for therapy here.

About

Inter-Being Psychologists is a mental health practice that sells psychological treatment, with locations at Weteringschans in Amsterdam and Poststraat in Groningen. The client groups it names are expats and other international residents, international students, and Dutch professionals with international backgrounds. The difficulties it lists are anxiety, mood problems, burnout, relationship difficulties, trauma, identity questions, ADHD and autism, and it puts cultural adjustment alongside those, meaning the strain of living and working in a country other than the one a person grew up in. Treatment is offered individually and in groups. Besides English and Dutch, its site lists Arabic, Turkish, Norwegian, German and Serbo-Croatian, so a client can often be seen in a first language. It describes its approach as culturally sensitive rather than one standard method, states that its care is reimbursed under Dutch health insurance, and lists registrations and affiliations including the BIG register, the psychologists association NIP and the health care psychologists association NVGZP.

What they offer

  • Individual psychological treatment for anxiety, mood problems, burnout, trauma and relationship difficulties
  • Group therapy
  • Support around cultural adjustment and identity questions after moving country
  • Therapy in Arabic, Turkish, Norwegian, German and Serbo-Croatian as well as English and Dutch

Good to know

  • A commercial practice. A client becomes a patient of a private practice rather than a user of a public service.
  • Not a crisis service.
  • It has rooms in Amsterdam and Groningen.
