Organisation records are published from the Flux Forward organisation register and shown here exactly as that register holds them. We do not research, write or edit them on this site, and a listing is not an endorsement or a sign that an organisation can help with your situation. Check the organisation's own website before acting.
For someone who has just moved to Tilburg this is a place to walk into rather than a website: a public cafe, meet-ups where you meet others in the same position, and Dutch lessons on the same premises.
About
International Center Tilburg is a physical meeting place in Tilburg for internationals and for Dutch residents who want to meet them. Its own site describes the people who use it as migrants, expats, students, young professionals and locals with an interest in other countries, and puts the purpose of the place as connecting those two groups. What it runs is concrete: Dutch language courses at A2 and B1 level, social events and meet-ups, language exchange evenings, and a community cafe with wifi, coffee and space to work, which can also be hired as a venue. It publishes practical writing about living in the Netherlands. Joining the community is free and involves no membership. Ownership matters here, because many Dutch international centres are joint services of several municipalities and this one is not: it was started privately in 2018 by two founders to deal with the social effects of the city becoming more international, and it works through partnerships with entrepreneurs, cultural bodies and educational institutions. Its own pages name no municipality, foundation or public funder.
What they offer
- Social events, meet-ups and language exchange evenings
- Venue hire
Good to know
- It is privately run, not a municipal service. It does not handle registration, permits or any other official business.
- Its area is the city of Tilburg.
- The community is free to join, but the Dutch courses and the venue hire are paid services.
