Organisation records are published from the Flux Forward organisation register and shown here exactly as that register holds them. We do not research, write or edit them on this site, and a listing is not an endorsement or a sign that an organisation can help with your situation. For a family arriving in the Eindhoven region, this is bilingual childcare plus a written and spoken explanation of how Dutch childcare, its costs and the childcare allowance actually work.
About
International Childcare Eindhoven provides childcare at three sites in Eindhoven, called Apollo, Columbus and Nemo, for children aged nought to thirteen. It is not an independent organisation: both its homepage and its about page state that it is part of Atalenta, an operator running twenty-nine primary schools and twenty-five childcare locations across Bergeijk, Valkenswaard, Waalre, Heeze-Leende, Cranendonck and Eindhoven. What is distinct to this brand is the three Eindhoven locations and the way they work. Each group has one pedagogical professional speaking Dutch with the children and another speaking English, so both languages are heard all day rather than taught as a lesson, and families come from dozens of countries. The Nemo site is on the High Tech Campus and the Columbus site sits next to the International School Eindhoven, which the organisation uses to ease the step from childcare into international education. For parents it publishes an explanation of how Dutch childcare works, covering the types of care, the costs and the childcare allowance, and it holds information meetings.
What they offer
- Bilingual Dutch and English childcare at the Apollo, Columbus and Nemo locations for children aged 0 to 13
- Written explanation for international parents of how childcare in the Netherlands works, including types of care, costs and the childcare allowance
- Parent community events, including a twice-yearly shared meal
Good to know
- Childcare in the Netherlands is a paid service. Places are billed to families, with the government childcare allowance applying to those who qualify, so this is not free provision.
- The brand covers three locations in Eindhoven. Atalenta's other childcare sites and its primary schools across the six surrounding municipalities are separate provision and are not booked through here.
- Places depend on availability and on the Dutch childcare rules. The organisation explains the childcare allowance but does not decide it; that is a matter for the Belastingdienst.
