Organisation records are published from the Flux Forward organisation register and shown here exactly as that register holds them. We do not research, write or edit them on this site, and a listing is not an endorsement or a sign that an organisation can help with your situation. Check the organisation's own website before acting.
Two stated exclusions decide whether it is the right route at all: it does not take clients who are in crisis or suicidal, and it does not accept SGGZ referrals, pointing anyone in that position to a GP or to the Dutch crisis number 113.
About
This is a private psychology practice run by one British psychologist who trained in the Netherlands, with a Master's in Clinical Psychology from Erasmus University Rotterdam and later certificates in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Schema Therapy. The about page states membership of the Netherlands Institute of Psychologists, the NIP, and earlier work in Dutch specialised mental health care, known as SGGZ. Sessions are in English, either at the practice address on Rhijnvis Feithstraat in Amsterdam or online, so people elsewhere in the country can also be seen. The difficulties listed are depression and low mood, self-esteem problems, anxiety in forms such as social anxiety, panic and OCD, recognising and managing emotions, burnout, and adjusting to life abroad, alongside attachment and relationship difficulties, poor sleep, trauma, grief and loss.
What they offer
- Therapy for adjusting to life abroad, including settling into a new job and culture
- Therapy for burnout, anxiety, depression and self-esteem difficulties
Good to know
- A commercial practice offering paid therapy, not a public mental health service.
- It does not accept clients who are in crisis or suicidal, and it does not accept SGGZ referrals.
- Nothing on the pages read states whether the care is reimbursed under Dutch health insurance.
