About
Invest-NL was established in 2019 and describes itself as a private enterprise financed with public money, a state participation held at arm's length from government, with the Ministry of Finance as its sole shareholder. Its purpose is domestic: to speed up change in the Dutch economy by financing companies and projects that commercial financiers consider too risky or too early. It says it invests where others hesitate, so that companies can scale up and other investors are drawn in behind it. Its work is grouped into strategic themes: energy and the move away from fossil fuels, biobased and circular business, agrifood, life sciences and health, and deep technology. Alongside investing it acts as a connector between financiers, entrepreneurs, knowledge institutions and governments in the Netherlands and in Europe, and it works with European counterparts as a member of the ELTI network of national promotional banks, as an InvestEU implementing partner, and through arrangements with the European Investment Fund, the European Investment Bank and Bpifrance. Its office is on Kingsfordweg in Amsterdam.
