About
IT Academy Noord-Nederland trains IT professionals in the northern Netherlands and is part of Hanze, the university of applied sciences in Groningen. It is an internal training unit of that institution rather than a separate school: its programme email runs on a Hanze domain and its recruitment pages link to Working at Hanze. What it covers is IT training specifically, which is narrower than the university around it. Its course list mixes short paid courses, such as functional management and a data science and artificial intelligence programme, with longer part-time study including a part-time Master in Digital Transformation charged at the statutory tuition rate. Courses are built together with employers in the region and are bought both by individuals and by organisations for their staff. It also holds free public lectures and online information sessions. Its second strand is Make IT Work, a retraining programme created by the Hogeschool van Amsterdam that this academy delivers in the north: it teaches people who already hold a qualification in another field, then recruits, selects and matches them with a regional employer.

- Make IT Work is not owned by this academy. It is an initiative of the Hogeschool van Amsterdam, delivered here for the northern region, and how it runs differs by region.
- The academy teaches IT only. Hanze's other faculties, degree programmes, admissions and student services are handled by the university itself, not through here.
- Its courses are built around the northern labour market and the website and application route are in Dutch, so it suits people already living in the region who can follow Dutch.
- Most courses are paid, whether bought by an individual or by an employer, and the part-time master is charged at the statutory tuition rate.
