It runs the credit line for clients of UAF, the foundation that guides refugee students and professionals: the client applies to the bank, the bank assesses and puts it to UAF for approval, and it states that those applications are handled with priority.
About
Stichting Kredietbank Nederland is a social bank created on 1 September 2009 by a merger of Stadsbank Midden Nederland and the Gemeentelijke Kredietbank Friesland. It is a foundation with its own director, supervisory board and advisory council, not a department inside a municipality, and it carries out work for municipalities across the country under contract. For individuals it offers personal and social loans to people who cannot borrow from a normal bank, help with problem debts including debt restructuring credit, income management in which it pays a household's fixed costs out of their income, protective administration through its Bureau BBW, and a service line for self-employed people. It is a member of the NVVK, the Dutch association for debt assistance and social banking, and follows that association's code of conduct. It states that its credit assessors, client managers, budget coaches and client advisers hold Wft certificates and that staff with client contact have taken the banker's oath. Its head office is on Gardeniersweg in Leeuwarden, with further offices in Almere and Raamsdonksveer.
