From the Flux Forward organisation register · Not edited on this site How we check thisHide
Organisation records are published from the Flux Forward organisation register and shown here exactly as that register holds them. We do not research, write or edit them on this site, and a listing is not an endorsement or a sign that an organisation can help with your situation. Check the organisation's own website before acting.
Its pages are published in English as well as Dutch, so someone who has recently moved to Groningen can use the public art map and the routes to find their way around the city's art, and can join the art rental scheme to borrow works for a home or an office.
About
Stichting Kunstpunt Groningen calls itself the hub for visual arts in Groningen and splits its work in two. The first half is developing art: it produces new work in public space, including a street art project, and looks after existing works, choosing pieces that connect to the identity of particular neighbourhoods, streets and residents. It publishes an online map of the public art collection in the city. The second half is connecting people with art: it guides visitors through the Groningen art scene, organises routes and other events, and runs an art rental service from its premises on Trompsingel, next to the SPOT and De Oosterpoort culture centre, where members borrow works to hang at home, at school or in an office. For professional artists in the northern Netherlands it acts as a platform: it publishes portfolio pages, lists open calls, and offers workshops and commissions. Its first floor is reachable by lift, and it sets out the accessible facilities in the building it shares.
