Lifeport is the shared name for the Arnhem and Nijmegen region in Gelderland. The website is published by The Economic Board, described on the site as a cooperation between knowledge institutions, companies and governments made up of eighteen directors drawn from those three sectors. The Board sets regional priorities, starts and supports projects and programmes, attracts funding for them, and lobbies for the region in The Hague and Brussels, with a project office doing the daily work and maintaining the network inside the region and beyond it. Three priority sectors are named: energy, health, and high tech including chip technology. Four supporting themes cut across them: smart sustainability, artificial intelligence, the labour market, and food. Partner organisations also invest jointly through a regional fund that puts money into talent, accessibility and quality of life.
