About
LTO Noord is a Dutch agricultural interest association whose members are farmers, horticulturists and other rural entrepreneurs. Its about page states that it voices the position of members across the nine northern provinces. Members take part through committees, boards and study groups, and the association carries their case to municipalities, provinces, the national government and the European institutions in Brussels. Its advocacy is organised in four themes: countryside and surroundings, soil and water, nature, climate and energy, and people, entrepreneurship and education. Next to lobbying it runs practical projects with members on running a farm business and on sustainability, an information centre that answers member questions about legislation, subsidies and personnel matters, and a Werkgeverslijn, an advice line for agricultural employers. Its main office is on Dr. Stolteweg in Zwolle, with further offices in Drachten, The Hague, Hillegom and Wageningen.
