About
LUMO Labs is a Dutch venture capital firm, registered as LUMO Labs B.V. and based in Eindhoven. Its own pages say it was set up by entrepreneurs who became investors, and that it puts money into start-ups using emerging technologies to address social and environmental challenges. The technologies it names are artificial intelligence, data, blockchain, the internet of things, augmented and virtual reality, and digital security. It links its investment choices to four United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: health and wellbeing, quality education, sustainable cities and climate action. Alongside capital it offers founders a support track it calls the LUMO program, which it bases on the experience of its partners as company builders and as investors, and it presents its network as part of what it brings. The firm publishes impact reports and describes a policy of impact transparency, setting out its sustainability objectives, investment strategy and impact metrics. Its working address is on the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven.
