About
MEE Noord provides independent client support in Friesland and Groningen. Its clients are people living with a visible or non-visible disability or condition, including intellectual and physical disabilities, autism, acquired brain injury, chronic illness and mental health problems, together with their parents and families. Its own description of the work is to look at what a person can do and to help across all areas of life, naming school, work, income, housing and care. It names three specialist themes: independent client support, known in Dutch as onafhankelijke clientondersteuning; a youth and family strand for questions and worries about a child's development; and an academy. It also gives information and advice on sexuality, including sexually transgressive behaviour and sexual abuse, for people affected as a victim or as the person responsible, and it works with the autism networks in Friesland and Groningen and a northern brain injury network. Support is given close to the client, online, or at its two offices in Groningen and Leeuwarden, reached through a single registration and advice point.

- It is independent from assessors, care purchasers and providers, and does not make eligibility or care-allocation decisions.
- Its own organisation page states it is there for everyone in Friesland and Groningen, with offices in Leeuwarden and Groningen. Drenthe is not mentioned.
- Nothing on its pages mentions migration, residence status or languages other than Dutch.
