Midpoint Brabant works on the economy of Hart van Brabant, the region around Tilburg in Noord-Brabant. It describes itself as a cooperation platform that also develops and runs innovation programmes, projects and services, bringing entrepreneurs, education and research institutions, public authorities and social organisations together in what it calls a multihelix. Its stated mission is to strengthen broad prosperity, which it defines as economic development alongside wellbeing, health, sustainability and social cohesion. It sets out three core tasks: giving independent advice to companies and connecting them to networks, experts, talent and public schemes, with extra attention to manufacturing, logistics and leisure; stimulating innovation through programmes and projects, with business coaches who work with startups and scale-ups and a focus on data and artificial intelligence for social applications; and improving the conditions for businesses to settle and grow in the region through networks, talent development, knowledge sharing and financing. Its themes include digitalisation, sustainability, human capital, startup support, financing advice and strategy. Organisationally it is a foundation with a board and an advisory council, alongside a private company, Midpoint Brabant Development, which carries out the work.
