The route in is narrow but concrete: an entrepreneur who came from abroad and whose company is established in Drenthe can apply here for a loan towards growth or innovation alongside other financing.
About
MKB Fonds Drenthe is a regional financing instrument for smaller companies in the province of Drenthe. Its about page says that it stimulates growing companies on behalf of the Province of Drenthe, and that it helps both starting and existing businesses to carry out plans for growth and innovation when they lack the money to do so. It provides tailored financing and credit, and it says it gives more than money: its investment managers advise, guide and coach the entrepreneur for as long as the financing runs. The money is lent and repaid, so what it describes is loans and credit rather than grants. The fund shows five conditions as short labels on its pages: established in Drenthe, growth or innovation, additional financing, a financing need, and regular repayment. The site offers an online financing check that tells an entrepreneur in a few clicks whether the fund can help. The office is in the IT Hub on Griendtsveenweg in Hoogeveen.
What they offer
- Tailored loans and credit for growth and innovation in Drenthe companies
- Advice, guidance and coaching by investment managers during the financing term
- Online financing check
Good to know
- Financing is subject to the fund's criteria and is not guaranteed. It lends and expects regular repayment.
- Being established in Drenthe is one of its five published conditions, so the province is the limit of where a company can apply.
- The pages are in Dutch, and contact runs through two named investment managers rather than a general desk, so no general email address or switchboard number is published.
