Organisation records are published from the Flux Forward organisation register and shown here exactly as that register holds them. We do not research, write or edit them on this site, and a listing is not an endorsement or a sign that an organisation can help with your situation. Check the organisation's own website before acting.
Emmen publishes its registration, civic integration and business pages in English, so a newcomer can read in English what has to be done and by when. First registration and re-registration both have to be done in person at the municipality, and re-registration within five days of arrival. If you are looking at Emmen for a company rather than for yourself, the municipality names account managers as the point of contact.
About
Gemeente Emmen is the local government of Emmen in the province of Drenthe, and it publishes part of its website in English. That section covers first registration for people coming to live in the Netherlands for the first time, which has to be done in person at the municipality; re-registration for people returning from abroad, in person and within five days of arrival; reporting a move; civic integration; and doing business. On civic integration it states the position plainly: the Dutch Civic Integration Act requires people who want to come and live in the Netherlands to have an understanding of Dutch culture and language, an integration course has to be completed, and the obligation applies to people aged 16 to 65. It publishes the procedure, how to apply, the fees and a contact route in English. Its business pages present Emmen as an industrial centre for the Northern Netherlands, on the A37 motorway towards northern Germany and Scandinavia in one direction and the Randstad in the other, with manufacturing, high tech systems and materials, logistics and green chemistry named as its strong sectors. Account managers are the named contact for anyone who wants to start a business or is looking for a location.
