This is the site for the steps that happen before arrival and from outside the country. Its own quick links are checking whether you need a visa, applying for a Schengen visa, and applying for a Dutch passport.
About
NetherlandsWorldwide, which uses the Dutch name Nederland Wereldwijd on its social channels, is the part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that answers cross-border questions from the public. Rather than sending people between separate government websites, it collects information from many Dutch bodies on one site and sorts it by subject: travel and visas; identity matters including the Dutch passport and identity card; Dutch nationality; legalising documents and DigiD; work inside and outside the country; family matters such as marriage and having a child; education, including study, internships and the use of diplomas and certificates in the Netherlands; living abroad or coming to live in the Netherlands; money matters such as AOW pension, income tax and benefits; transport, including the Dutch driving licence and importing or exporting a car; and health insurance and the healthcare benefit. The site names the government organisations whose information it carries, among them the Tax Administration, DUO, the RDW, Dutch Customs, the IND, Logius, Nuffic, the SVB, the UWV and the Municipality of The Hague.
