From the Flux Forward organisation register · Not edited on this site How we check this

Organisation records are published from the Flux Forward organisation register and shown here exactly as that register holds them. We do not research, write or edit them on this site, and a listing is not an endorsement or a sign that an organisation can help with your situation. Check the organisation's own website before acting.

More about where our information comes from

Relevant once you are renting rather than while you are looking: this is the landlord a tenant deals with for repairs, rent arrears, nuisance and earthquake damage.

About

Nijestee is a social landlord in the city of Groningen. It describes itself as a stichting, a Dutch foundation, and states that its purpose is that people on lower incomes can live well in the city. It is one of the housing corporations represented nationally by Aedes. Staff work in teams, and the organisation is supervised internally by a Raad van Commissarissen, a supervisory board. Tenants deal with Nijestee for everyday housing matters: submitting a repair request, ending a tenancy, reporting nuisance from neighbours, getting information about energy, asking for help when they cannot pay the rent, and reporting earthquake damage, which the site carries as a standing category of request. A Huurdersraad, the tenants' council, gives renters a formal voice in the organisation, and Nijestee publishes accounts of resident-led projects in city neighbourhoods such as Paddepoel and Beijum. It also sets out separately what contractors can expect when working for it. The main office is at Damsterplein 1 in Groningen, with a second location on Antillenstraat.

What they offer

Good to know

  • Every page read was in Dutch, and no English version was found.
  • Homes are let in the city of Groningen only, and allocation follows the social housing rules rather than a direct application to Nijestee alone.
