Northzone is a commercial venture capital firm. Its own site describes it as multi-stage, operating across Europe and the United States, and investing since 1996. It lists five offices with the year each opened: Stockholm in 2003, London in 2012, New York in 2013, Berlin in 2017 and Amsterdam in 2019. The Amsterdam office is at Herengracht 450. Portfolio entries are tagged either Early or Growth and carry the year of first investment, and the published examples run from Spotify in 2008 and Klarna in 2015 through Personio, Spring Health and a recent group of artificial intelligence companies. The firm says its approach is to back companies that are global from the start, with capital in one country and customers in another.
