About
Nuffic is the Dutch organisation for internationalisation in education, working across school, vocational and higher education. For people who studied abroad, its most direct role is diploma recognition: the Dutch government has appointed Nuffic and SBB to evaluate foreign diplomas, and applications reach them through the IDW digital counter. Nuffic also publishes information on the Dutch education system, on studying and working in the Netherlands with a foreign diploma, and research on international education.

Good to know
- A credential evaluation is not legally binding. Dutch institutions decide for themselves whom they admit and employers decide whom they hire, so an evaluation is not proof of permission to study or work in the Netherlands.
- Nuffic and SBB carry out the evaluation itself; IDW is the digital counter through which an application is submitted, not the body that evaluates the diploma.
- A complete credential evaluation application usually takes at least ten working weeks, and IDW publishes the current processing times.
