About
NVP is a branchevereniging, a trade association, for the firms it calls participatiemaatschappijen, the Dutch word covering both private equity and venture capital investors. It states that it was set up in 1984. Full members are professional Dutch and foreign investors that put risk-bearing capital into Dutch companies; associated members are the advisers around them, including law firms, consultants, tax specialists and accountants. It belongs to the employers' organisation VNO-NCW and to Invest Europe, its European counterpart, and its office is on Noordhollandstraat in Amsterdam. Its work falls into a few strands. It publishes yearly figures on the Dutch private capital market, covering fundraising and investment by buyout, growth and venture funds, and research on the companies those funds own. It takes public positions on policy that affects early-stage finance. It writes standard documents for its members, including a model non-disclosure agreement. And it runs an academy whose courses include a venture capital programme.

Good to know
- A membership association whose members are investment firms. It supplies no capital of its own, so approaching it for money would be the wrong route.
- Its site is mainly in Dutch, with occasional articles in English.
- It provides no service to people moving to the country.
