Organisation records are published from the Flux Forward organisation register and shown here exactly as that register holds them. We do not research, write or edit them on this site, and a listing is not an endorsement or a sign that an organisation can help with your situation. Check the organisation's own website before acting.

About

Omek is an Amsterdam-based community and talent platform for bicultural professionals, with the African diaspora at the centre of its mission. It runs a membership community where people meet, take part in workshops and talks, and build a professional network, and it operates its own jobs platform where employers advertise roles to that community. For employers and brands it offers talent recruitment and employee development programmes, usually built around the community rather than sold separately from it. Membership is free, and the organisation states that its criterion for joining is a commitment to its mission rather than any particular background, so members and guests are welcome regardless of race and identity. Omek has run since 2019 and works internationally: its members are spread across many countries and the roles on its jobs platform are not limited to the Netherlands.

What they offer

Good to know

  • A professional community and talent platform. It is not an immigration, relocation or settlement service: it does not handle permits, housing or municipal formalities.
  • Its mission centres on bicultural professionals and the African diaspora. Omek states that the criterion for membership is a commitment to that mission, and that members and guests are welcome regardless of race and identity, so participation is broader than the mission statement alone suggests.
  • Events, programmes and the roles on its jobs platform change continuously. Check the site for what is running now.
