About
ORION Gelderland is a partnership rather than an organisation. Ten partners work together to strengthen the startup climate in the province of Gelderland, and the collaboration states that it is made possible in part by the province. The partners named on its pages include ArtEZ University of the Arts, HAN University of Applied Sciences, Radboud University, Saxion, Van Hall Larenstein, an incubator for industrial startups and the regional development agency Oost NL. It addresses founders with an idea it calls scalable and offers three things: programmes, financing and a network of regional knowledge partners. The programmes themselves are run by the individual partners and listed together on the Orion site; they range from starter and business booster tracks at the universities of applied sciences to idea validation and company building tracks at Radboud University and accelerators from the development agency. Its named themes are the energy transition, digitalisation and the circular economy. There is a project office with programme managers, but each of them works from one of the partner institutions.

Good to know
- Its geography is the province of Gelderland, and most of what it lists is delivered by the partner institutions rather than by Orion itself.
- The programmes belong to the partners. Eligibility, language of instruction and admission are decided by whichever institution runs the programme, so check with them.
- The site is in Dutch and says nothing about support for founders who have moved to the Netherlands.
- It is a partnership without a legal identity of its own, so contact runs through a programme manager at one of the partner institutions.
