About
PIM is a programme run as an initiative of the province of Noord-Holland rather than a standalone organisation. Its Dutch name states the purpose: making innovative smaller companies ready for investment. Its published conditions are that the company is established in Noord-Holland and works in one of the sectors it names, which are the energy transition and sustainability, agriculture, water and food, health and care, and safety. Within that it takes startups, scale-ups and smaller businesses alike. Entrepreneurs begin with a free intake conversation, after which advisers take them through defined support products. These include an investment readiness scan, a quick scan of financing options, a quick scan of impact investors, a subsidy scan, help building a basic financial model, work on a pitch deck and pitch preparation, a second opinion on a deal or term sheet, and support with applying for a bank innovation loan. The focus is the financing question rather than the product itself: what money is available, what an investor will ask, and how to present the company. The programme lists addresses in Haarlem and at Science Park in Amsterdam.
