For an international student, PhD candidate or newly arrived founder in Leiden, this is a physical place to find a startup programme, a desk and other founders.

About

PLNT is a startup incubator with its main building at Langegracht 70 in Leiden, a ten minute walk from Leiden Central Station. It runs a second site, the unlock_ HUB in BioPartner 3 at Leiden Bio Science Park, for startups in life sciences and health. PLNT sorts its work into three stages: ideation, where short formats help people test whether they have an idea worth pursuing; validation, where a three-month programme works an early idea into a business; and acceleration, where coaching supports startups that have already reached the market. Apart from one programme for researchers, the programmes meet in person rather than online. People who are not in a programme can rent a flexdesk or an office in the building. PLNT also hosts community evenings and student events, and it develops entrepreneurship lessons together with mboRijnland, Hogeschool Leiden and Leiden University. It keeps an English version of its website, although several programme pages are published only in Dutch.

Good to know

  • Several programme pages are published only in Dutch, although the main site has an English version.
  • Both addresses PLNT publishes are in Leiden, at Langegracht 70 and at the unlock_ HUB on Leiden Bio Science Park, even though it describes itself as an incubator in Leiden and The Hague.
